I've been in town for the convention for about 24 hours and second Bitch's comment - my feet are killing me, too. Lots of standing in line for events and when you finally get inside, you realize it's either lame or too loud, and leave. (Yes, it is just possible that I am just getting old.)
Denver is a nice town. I walked about 4.5 miles today starting on Colfax Ave., reputedy a "bad area" (ha!), went over the Platte River to anti-war central, then back over the 20th Street bridge to downtown. Hot, but dry. It looks a lot like San Antonio.
Outside the hall, the news is about some meth freaks armed with rifles who might have wanted to kill an unnamed black Presidential candidate. Also, yesterday a group of protesters "confronted" the cops on 16th St., which sounded more amusing than anything else. The cops here are really pleasant.
Hung out with the Pennsylvania delegation last night and got slightly hammered on good beer courtesy of Tyco Electronics. I doubt anyone was swayed by the largess. Tonight I am hoping to drink (well, continue drinking) for free again.
Today I'm in the Big Tent, where allegedly several media stars made appearances, although I didn't care enough to go gawk. A local volunteer working here stopped me and asked, "Why is everyone white?" I told her black people were illegal online.
Tonight is Hillary's big thing. We have a big-screen TVs here to watch it on.
