Today was the second day of the music festival at Penn's Landing, and the second day of perfect weather for registering voters.
People are very enthusiastic about voting for Obama. The volunteers are incredibly enthusiastic. Most have never done anything political before.
Only a few people were for McCain, usually older white men. As I was packing up, one guy who had passed me several times during the day said, "You know what, though? If he [Obama] gets in, it'll be the first President with a WIC card." I don't know if he was a McCain supporter or a Hillary supporter. I suspect both. I told a friend about it and she said, "Ew." But you know what? It's stuff like that that makes me happy to be supporting the right candidate. Tell me where the racists are, so I can stand on the other side.
Registered by me:

Total to date: 56
Registered by my volunteers:
Prior running total: 52

Is another 2,000 possible before the deadline of October 5th? I think 2,000 would be a nice number.
