Anti-immigration activists in California show their true colors - the American, California, Nazi and Confederate flags together:
More pictures at guerillanews. An eyewitness reports:
In spite of repeated denials of collaboration with neo-Nazis, the Ventura and Orange County Minutemen/Save Our State group has received support from several hate groups including the National Vanguard, VDARE, and Stormfront members.
Lou Dobbs, call your office.
MORE: Notice his skinhead boots and Confederate forage cap - as he waves the American flag - and the symbol she's wearing down near her right hand:
I know for damn sure if I were at a rally and a bunch of Nazis showed up to "support" my side, I'd shut them down or go home--not hang out with them and then offer half-assed statements after the fact about how they made us look bad.
Clearly, America-loving has turned into racist hate. Why doesn't the Right denounce these people? Why do they let them attend their rallies? I don't see anything about this on any of the conservatarian blogs that are usually loudest about arresting the "illegals".
The silence is eerie - and disturbing.
None of this should be terribly surprising. I've long held that immigration reform is an important issue that requires serious discussion, but I don't believe for a moment that scapegoating and harassing border crossers is going to provide any solutions. My experience has been that if you scratch beneath the surface of those who do, you quickly find that they are more likely to be concerned with Latino (or any nonwhite) immigration, not illegal immigration per se, though of course they pay lip service to the latter.
Exactly. Remember, the right isn't for protecting our borders, they're actually for genocide.
"Remember, the right isn't for protecting our borders, they're actually for genocide."
This has to be one of the most irresponsible statements I've ever read. I consider myself right of center as are many of my friends and have no animosity toward anyone because of their race or ethnicity. I'm old fashioned that way, I have to know someone before I hate them. I couldn't just say "Oh you have a problem with ILLEGAL imagrants bankrupting your local hospital, you must be a genocidal nazi." I do have a problem with people from ANY country violating our national sovreinty. To come here illegally is a violation of our laws. You can think of them as poor day laborers if you want, but they are (the illegal immigrants) also criminals. (by virtue of the fact that coming here illegaly is a crime) Also, I can not understand why you and others who hold your view would prop up a system of look the other way, we don't like that law so we don't want it enforced, that keeps these illegal immigrants from assimilating into the American society and enjoying the benefits therof. To progress beyond the status of day laborer requires an education, command of the English language, and gainful employment. All of these things are best accomplished by applying for a legal visa and citizenship. It takes longer and not everyone will be accepted, but we don't owe everyone in the world a job, or the opportunity to live in our country.

Really? I am sure other people have said things that were similar, and people on the right weren't outraged. Like who? Some pundit, I recall. I'll think of his name in an instant.

So you're saying that enforcing the immigration laws would allow illegal immigrants to assimilate into American society ... by being deported. Hmmm.

So, where'd you leave off reading? Dick & Jane? The airwaves are full of this crap day-in, day-out from the right wing hacks at Clear Channel and Faux News. And the Freepers, LGF and the rest of the rabid right endorse, support and pass on these racist positions.

"to progress beyond the status of day laborer requires an education, command of the English language, and gainful employment."
evidently the president is unfit to progress beyond day labour

Ok,
You disagree, I've got a couple of personal attacks (the dick and jane reference is a little overused by now, isn't it?) The gratuitous "Bush is stupid" even though the majority of Americans (granted just the legal ones) voted for him, and a slam at clear channel and fox. I thought the left was all about inclusion and deversity of thought. If we can get past the fasciast "I disagree so your a , what was the term, genocidal nazi, could you please suggest a better solution than deportation and securing the border. Or is it that you don't believe the nations soverienty should be important enough to actually try to protect.

Characterizing it as "I disagree so your a , what was the term, genocidal nazi" is misconstruing what's been said. I don't like the term "Nazi" being thrown around, but there were ACTUAL NAZIs (genocidal by definition) plus the confederate flags, which don't really send off the "we're friendly to nonwhites" vibe. Also, you mentioned "assimilation" -- which I read as "erase all vestiges of non-whiteness." I like diversity; pinatas, Dora the Explorer, margaritas, all good in my book.

Happy Birthday Mithras, but cut back on the recreational substances just a tad. When Tucker Carlson starts unrolling the barbed wire coils you might have something but until that point you are in tin-foil hatland with that one.

Saying "Remember, the right isn't for protecting our borders, they're actually for genocide." is simply ridiculous. How intolerant can you be? I am for securing the southern border, and my views are in the mainstream. To try to paint all your opponents as Nazi sympathizers is no different that people on the right saying you are all a bunch of commies. Seems like both groups need to grow up.
If conservatives judged every liberal protestor by the biggest nut in the group, well all of you liberals would be classified as nuts too.
Posts like yours remind we of why I could never be a liberal. The range of permitted thought is so narrow.

No, the reason you could never be a liberal is that you are a prolix, self-impressed dimwit who doesn't know how to read.
I will now adminster a test to determine if you are just averagely-conservative dumb, or full-on boneheadedly conservative dumb. Look at the following words, and tell me what thoughts enter your mind, if any:
