This is so wacky, it must be a joke:
It's an ad running on a prominent conservative website. It's allegedly designed to - get this - discredit the AARP for opposing social security privatization.
I think it's a joke. I hope it's a joke. Who the hell knows with these people. Maybe they think gayness is a wedge issue that will work with the stupid old people like it worked on the stupid everyone else in the election.
(Via Josh Marshall.)
Update: Let the riffs begin! Click the ad for the source:
If any of the fainthearted faction think that they will be able to buy a permanent get out of jail free card from the Republicans they are idiots. The AARP sold their members down the river with that ridiculous drug company giveaway last year and look what it bought them. Gay bashing and treason. There is ZERO margin in cooperation.
Update 2: Similar to above, but even more clever:
Silly, but not as silly as the original:
Update B: Fontana Labs at Unfogged (in comments here) discovered this story and this story. So the totally insane gay-baiting thing may actually hinge on an actual policy disagreement.
It's still nuts, of course.
Update III: The wingnuts pull the ad. Stay tuned.
