From Philly.com:
Federal authorities today subpoenaed financial records of Mayor Street, his wife, Naomi Post, and his son Sharif Street, according to sources familiar with the FBI's investigation of city contracts.A subpoena and search warrant were served at Commerce Bank's Philadelphia headquarters at 21st and Market Streets, Commerce spokesman David Flaherty said. The subpoena, according to a source familiar with it, sought bank records and deposit and loan documents for Street, his wife and his son.
Also sought were Commerce's financial records for numerous other people, including lawyer Ronald A. White, the longtime Street confidant whose Center City law offices were raided by the FBI on Thursday. White resigned Thursday from a Commerce regional advisory board, Flaherty said. ...
The widening federal investigation reached into the offices of the Philadelphia Housing Authority today, as the U.S. Attorney's Office subpoenaed thousands of pages of documents. And it extended to Philadelphia International Airport, where federal investigators subpoenaed records from the offices of Market Place/Redwood, a concession company that leases space to food and retail vendors at the airport. Lawyer White has represented many of those vendors in their negotiations with Market Place officials.
This looks like a bad sign for Mayor Street. If the FBI wants his bank records, then there might be some money trail they are following. As I said before, if Street is arrested, then the Democrats have to be thinking hard about someone else running in his place in the election in 18 days.
