You know it's bad when liberals are reduced to saying, "Well, it was him or McCain/Palin, so we had no choice." Tonight we learned that people have different ideas about how to deal with the oil catastrophe, and we're going to discuss them. Woooo.
At the bar tonight, one of our number predicted successfully that Obama would use the "if we can send a man to the moon" locution, which was a coup, since even I didn't think he'd go there. I did call the use of "resilient" mere seconds before it appeared near the end. There were high fives all around for our cynicism. The rest of the time we discussed whether we were too cynical, not cynical enough, or whether we and our cynicism were irrelevant. It was much more interesting than the speech itself.
The beer was good, so that's something.
