Frank Bell reminds me how Obama merch marketing hit bottom:
On a cheesiness scale of 1 to 10, this is surely an 11. For the full effect, you have to click through and watch the television ad. ("The American Historic Society"? "Kind eyes"? "But wait ..."?) The guy writing at his desk (do people still do that?) with the plated Obama sitting there as his inspiration is priceless. They went to press before North Carolina and Missouri were called, so the election results printed on the back shows 27 "undetermined" electoral votes.
I do remember things like this - commemerative plates and coins - for Reagan in the 80s, but after at least one term, I think. Oh well, you gotta cash in when the market is hot. Capitalizm, bitches!
