Don't know if I care a whole lot, but I guess it means something to the people who still think Colin Powell is a credible figure.
More:
"I'm well aware of the world I played; my role was straightforward. I wanted to avoid a war, and the president agreed with that and tried to go through the UN. And it didn't work, and I supported the president. And it looked great...but then [it went bad] and now it's starting to turn around."
You killed hundreds of thousands of innocent people, McNamara. That's never going to "turn around."
On McCain's ads: "It troubled me. Those kind of images going out on Al-Jazeera are killing us around the world. This business from the congresswoman from Minnesota saying, let's examine all congressman to see who is pro-American or not pro-American."
So if we could just keep the bigotry to ourselves, it wouldn't be a problem. Good thinking.
Update:
Duncan is funny:
I think what little credibility Colin Powell had is in a little vial of white powder somewhere. ... Still, such things are not aimed at me, but at that segment of the population for whom the recommendation of their first black friend might encourage them to get a second one.
