I'll be attending this again this year. (My posts from the last conference are here, here, here, here, here and here.)
There will be a lot of back-slapping and "yay for us" at this thing - there always is - but there will also be substance. I'm particularly looking forward to the opening plenary with Glennzilla, Rachel Maddow and Arianna Huffington, Anthony Romero's keynote the next day, and the workshops on the surveillance society and freedom of information on the web. The guy who played Kumar in Harold & Kumar will be there. Also, Barry Lynn and Justices Scalia, Souter and Ginsberg will attend a lunch honoring Nadine Strossen.
Other than Scalia, there is a remarkable lack of conservative speakers. Last time, we had Ken Starr, Bob Barr, and Wayne LaPierre, as well as Scalia. Barr actually over very well. The absence of such people this time probably means that Romero has given up on his quest to make common cause with conservative civil libertarians, which is sad but not really surprising.
Here's the full agenda. If you want to go, full registration is $375, but the day passes are more affordable.
