At 3:50 p.m. I was home recovering from my dentist appointment, when my windows shook in a distinctive way: Concussion wave.
At 4:04, I finally got outside and took a few pictures. To the right, it's the rear of the house that exploded:
Pretty powerful blast. The rear windows flew over the brick building on the extreme right and hit a house three doors down:

One landed in the driveway and the other is behind the fence.
The front of the house collapsed:

Fortunately, no one was home and no one on the street got hurt. More pictures after the jump.

Thanks for the text message earlier. Hope you didn't lose any windows.

Sheesh! Meth lab?
Gas leak. And a bloody stupid person in the crowd was chattering about how she passed by the place the hour before, and thought she smelled gas, but didn't alert anyone because she didn't want them to think badly of her if she were wrong.

It's in the enlightened self-interest for a neighbor to notify the gas company when he or she smells gas. PGW needs all the help they can get.

Yeah, I think the lesson's been learned.
