As I have mentioned before, right-wingers run like startled sheep when liberals stand up to them. In the latest installment, Kelley of Suburban Blight put up this snide post entitled "No Links Whatsoever, Huh?", implying that the capture of alleged al Qaeda operatives in Iraq supports a connection between Saddam Hussein and al Qaeda. In the comments to the post, I make the point that this is nonsense - even the State Department's own press release makes clear the prisoners are people who have recently entered Iraq. I made my point bluntly, but used no foul language or personal attacks. But after two comments, Kelley asked me to leave:
"Mithras, I always appreciate hearing people's opinions. But if you can't present yourself more palatably - i.e., without insulting your host, then stay at your own blog. You're acting less and less like a commenter and more and more like a troll."
Kelley, you and your buddies have trashed the country I love with your antics during the last presidential administration and by supporting a pack of lying, thieving, irresponsible dimwits in this one. Thousands of people have died, here and abroad, as a result of terrorism, and you treat it as a partisan matter and look for advantage. Thousands more have died and are right now being killed in a war based on lies which will probably make us less safe, not safer. Meanwhile, people on my side of the debate have been loudly called traitors, communists, degenerates and more in every medium simply for making logical and factual criticisms.
Now you want me to be polite? Go to hell.
